articulate balanced compassionate dynamic experiencial fiesty genuine healthy intelligent jovial kinetic luminous metamorphic noire omnivorous pensive querist realized sui generis tenacious urbane versatile worldly xenogeneic youthful zany I am a creative, spiritual, multi-faceted, right-brain left-brain balanced, artgineer. Outgoing and gregarious, but with an introspective and quiet side. Patient and nurturing. Have been known to be mischievous. I am steadfast and faithful. I'm high on integrity and have a sense of fair play. Definitely a natural born tree hugger. At home you might find me involved in things like: outlining book ideas, watching gardening and home improvement shows, entertaining my exotic cats, creating art techno jewelry, listening to my schizophrenic music collection (everything from Stevie Ray Vaughn to Caetano Veloso and Sigur Ros, Ryuichi Sakamoto to Tom Waits and Staind), reading books on dead artists (Van Gogh, Remedios Veras to name a few) or forensic fiction, trying out new recipes on my two daughters, or updating my website or somebody elses. I enjoy the excitement of exploring thrift stores for artifacts, visiting local galleries and art museums (especially fond of German Expressionism and ethnic art), partaking in any visually and intellectually stimulating activity that involves art, music and/or film, searching for unique and unusual found objects on the streets, attending lectures on everything fathomable and touring anything stimulating - design homes, Jurassic Museum, arboretums, cemeteries (especially fun at Halloween), animal parks and architectural marvels. Much of my free time is spent volunteering for Siamese Rescue and Kitten Rescue, working as a manicurist at spa events and children's parties, and caring for other peoples pets or gardens. I choose friends who have at least some strengths, virtues and/or talents beyond mine. Together we help each other grow through open communication and supportive behavior. I avoid negative/self-destructive people. I think friendship is something that evolves over time and that friends are works in progress. Friendships over time create trust, comfort, safety, understanding, caring and take a long time to build. Friendships are also based on respect and responsible behavior, consistancy and genuinely caring about the other person. Honesty is extremely important. One might as well put it all on the table and be appreciated and appraised for who you really are . . . not someone you feel you need to be to satisfy another. THINGS I LIKE - Kieslowski - John Malkovich - Gene Kelly - La Traviata - Dexter - yoga - Van Gogh - David Sedaris - Charles Bukowski - Animal Planet - Memoirs Of A Geisha - Jodie Foster - Dr G Medical Examiner - HGTV - Philip Glass - Douglas Adams - Dante's Divine Comedy - CraigsList - Beethovan and Chopin - LACMA - KCRW - riding the Metro - Thai massages - sushi and moichi - sipping green tea as the morning sun streams in my loft - redwood forests - freshly cut flowers - evergreens peaking out through fog caps - the smell of the earth, trees and ocean - sound of rain - monogamy - flickering candlelight - the sounds of the birds outside my studio window - long scenic rides in trains - smell of sage growing wild - driving in the moonlight with snow falling through the open sun roof - waking up next to my lover - tending my gardens - the smell of fresh sheets - the lingering scent of my lover - living with my eyes, ears and mind open - REGRETS - not having walked above the canopy in the Brazilian rainforest - the inability to let go of all my material possessions - not yet seeing the salmon run - A FEW MORE TIDBITS THAT MIGHT BE OF INTEREST I can (and do) rewire electrical fixtures and use power tools. I enjoy interior decorating with my personal tastes leaning towards Japanese minimalism and eclecticism. I am a creative cook of international disciplines. In my bedroom you will find: a tender yet passionate kisser, the flicker of burning candles, the smell of woodsy and citrusy incense, a blonde Ethan Allan art deco bed, dim lights, books, bamboo, green, white and mustard colored linens. I volunteer my time and talents for two non-profits helping re-build self-esteem in abused children and battered women. I know which way to turn my wheels when I park on a hill. I wear sunscreen. I play chess, scrabble and gameboy. I don't golf, wear baseball caps or eat crackers in bed. I admit it . . . I can sometimes be caught wearing clogs. THE MAN OF MY DREAMS IS MORE THAN A HEAD, TORSO, TWO ARMS AND LEGS He's truly interested in a committed monogamous relationship based on honesty and trust . . . with no games. |
