As a Project Engineer customized architectural lighting systems to meet commercial applications of customers including DeBeers, Microsoft, Armani, Austin Martin dealerships, DKNY, and Hovnanian. Integrated signage, security, and HVAC systems with HID, fluorescent and LED lighting. Followed through with submittals, fabrication, installation and assembly drawings, BOMs, and over saw final product fabrication, assembly and shipping. As a Project Engineer/Technical Writer was part of a new product development team which designed and produced innovative market-driven products for use in telecommunications enclosures. Project management included: presentation of concepts, introduction of new methods of fabrication, research of competitive products, research of materials, research of new vendors, research of available ways of manufacturing a new concept, make or buy cost analysis. Designed and documented projects from concept to manufacturing hand off, coordinated and scheduled testing of prototypes, wrote assembly instructions, wrote new product specifications, wrote test procedures, wrote analysis reports and white papers. Tolerance studies and detail drawings of sheet metal and machined parts, cable assemblies and 3D conceptual and assembly diagrams. Responsible for ordering fabricated parts. Established procedures for electronic drawing file management. Set up 2D and 3D AutoCAD library.  Standardized documentation, fabrication practices and guidelines for development of artwork for silkscreening. Researched and demonstrated label making equipment and related software to establish means of producing labels in house. Interfaced with marketing, production, purchasing and vendors. · FILENET CORPORATION, Costa Mesa, CA. 1994 to 1995.
As a contract Designer in research and development developed state-of-the art electro-mechanical enclosure. Followed through with detailed layouts, tolerance studies and detail drawings for fabrication. Upgraded existing designs for better fit, function and cost. Prepared isometric installation assembly diagrams and instructions for production. Edited text, layout and inserted graphics for new technical manuals. Project management included part procurement, fabrication liaison, production supervision and handled project from concept to production release. · DABICO, Costa Mesa, CA.  1993 to 1994. (One year while in lay off status from FileNet Corp.)
As a Project Engineer designed underground service equipment pits for airport industries worldwide. Worked with marketing personnel to determine solutions to customer needs then prepared submittals. Followed through with detail, installation and instructional assembly drawings. Prepared bill of material take-offs from plans and specifications. Created 3D conceptual diagrams for product concept and marketing proposals. Prepared bill of material take-offs, fabrication detail packages, and Operating and Maintenance Manuals. Acted as customer liaison throughout project. Interfaced with marketing, production and quality control. TQMD team coordination of all projects. As an Associate Engineer in software development, tested FileNet’s WorkForce Desktop software. Concentration of testing was in the forms building module and related graphic modules. Wrote up procedures to reproduce bugs and recommended work arounds. Rewrote and maintained WorkForce Desktop Help modules to optimize user interface of all modules. · FILENET CORPORATION, Costa Mesa, CA. 1985 to 1991.
As a Designer in research and development, conceptualized new hardware designs for computer peripherals and electro-mechanical enclosures. Followed through with detailed layouts and drawings for fabrication. Prepared isometric packaging and installation diagrams for technical manuals as well as instructional assembly drawings for production and field service. Generated artwork for PCB silkscreens and labels. AutoCAD, OrCAD, MS Word, MS Excel, Eudora, Manman.

· SPARVAN INCORPORATED, Long Beach, CA.  1983 to 1985.
As a Graphic Artist developed composite drawings on vellum through system registration. Produced final product on film using flatbed printer. Developed layers for composites using ink, Leroy lettering system, photographs, library paste-ups, Kroy tape and decals, Zipatone and custom transfers. Organized drawing packages and sheet layouts. Responsible for all black and white photographic processing and printing of halftones and continuous tones.
